Kaley Thorton & Travis
Their Story:
Kaley & Travis were married on May
31, 2008.
How They Met: Kaley & Travis have a unique "How
We Met" story. Kaley's car was broken down in a parking
lot of their home town (Paso Robles) and guess who her rescuing
Prince was? That's right, her future husband, Travis! They
hit it off immediately and she told her friends that very
day that she had "met her future husband".
The Proposal: Five years into dating, Kaley &
Travis went with her family to Tahoe on vacation. On the
Heavenly Ski Resort gondola ride at about 8,000 feet, Kaley's
mom suggested that she and Travis pose for a photo. Well,
Travis literally dropped on one knee to "get the camera",
but instead of a camera, he pulled out the gorgeous engagement
ring and proposed. And lucky Travis...she said yes!

Their Wedding:
Ceremony & Reception Site:
We both love the outdoors and knew that we wanted to get married
outdoors. It didn't take us long to decide that EOS
Estate Winery was the perfect place for us to have an outdoor
wedding in a beautiful vineyard setting that would fit our 250 guests.
Photography:
Our photographer, Dean Sullivan of Sullivan
Studios, did a fabulous job of capturing our special moments
throughout the day. He acted like a guest who just had the nicest
camera! At the end of the night he gave everyone a card with information
on how to view our wedding pictures online just a few weeks later.
So now, when someone wants to see our pictures, it is so easy to
direct them to the site rather than having to run all around with
our albums. Our guests really appreciate the convenience and we
do too!
Catering:
Kaley & Travis selected Alex's
Barbecue Catering for their wedding banquet. This long-time
South Coast business also has a great restaurant in Shell Beach.
Rentals:
Most weddings require a variety of additional supplies beyond what
is provided by the site, caterer, etc. Kaley & Travis obtained
these items from Taylor
Rental, which has locations in SLO, Atascadero and Paso
Robles.
Beverages:
To compliment our vineyard theme, the winery worked with us on setting
up an incredible bar station atop wine barrels. It was also arranged
for the wine to be served directly out of the barrel. Our guests
were amazed, as most people do not have the opportunity to taste
wine in such a way.
Colors:
Travis and I chose the colors together. I love the color sage and
he loves the color chocolate so naturally we started there. It was
amazing to us how beautiful those two colors looked together and
went so well with our setting.
Additional Services:
Other service/product providers were invitations by Sealed With
A Kiss, cake by Cassie's Custom Cakes, flowers by The
Flower Lady, rings & jewelry by Kevin Main and Whitehall
Jewelers, and portable executive-style bathrooms (needed due
to the extra large size of this wedding) were provided by Harvey's
Honey Huts.
Other Details:
At our guest sign in table we displayed a 6 Liter bottle of wine
with our customized label on it, which our bridal party had signed.
It was a really nice feature. Plus, as giveaways, we thought it
only appropriate to thank our friends and family for joining us
with sending them home each with a bottle of wine with a customized
label with our engagement pictures. It was a perfect touch!
Wedding Planning Help:
When I heard about Central Coast Bride magazine and website,
I immediately went to the site. So many of my questions were answered
right at the home page! What a relief! The most helpful thing I
found on that first visit was the information about wedding fairs.
Travis and I attended all of them and got al the information we
could possibly need to plan our wedding. With so many wedding professionals
in one spot we were easily able to compare pricing and services.
Being able to see samples of their work was great and we could easily
identify what worked well with our style! Throughout the rest of
the planning process we found the Central Coast Bride magazine and
website to be extremely valuable in providing the tools we needed
Overall I'd say that my wedding day was exactly what I dreamed
of. Some brides will tell you that the day went by in a blur or
that it was a nightmare to plan but well worth it in the end. I
think these brides must not have used Central Coast Bride,
because it was so much easier with their help to get things done.
I knew that with the resources online I could plan everything so
that when the big Day came I could sit back and relish the fact
that I was marrying the love of my life.
